Note: Only JIRA Admin has permissions to Install and Uninstall Tally Asset Manager and for Creating a project.
Installation
Install Tally Asset Manager to manage all the assets in your organization. Installing Tally Asset Manager is easy and can be done in a few steps.
Install Tally Asset Manager
Note: This can be done only by the JIRA administrator.
Log in as a JIRA Administrator, or as a user with JIRA administrator privileges.
Step 1: Click on the Settings icon at the far right of the screen. In the Settings dropdown, click Apps.
Step 2: In the Find new apps section in the JIRA sidebar, select Tally Asset Manager from the list of apps.
Step 3: Click Try it free to install Tally Asset Manager for Cloud.
Step 4: Click on the Start free trial button.
Step 5: You can configure the application by clicking on Manage apps and selecting the Tally Asset Manager.
Project Setup
Create Project.
Creating a project is one of the most important steps in the Tally Asset Manager application. It is the first and foremost step to be done. Only after the creation of the project, all other configurations can be made. Every process in the Tally Asset Manager is done under the created project.
Create a project by following the steps given below,
Prerequisite: App does not support the JIRA Core Free Plan. Please change to the Standard plan.
Step 1: Go to the navigation bar at the top and select the Apps option, now select Tally Asset Manager to go inside the App.
Step 2: Select the Project menu from the setup section in the side navigation.
Step 3: On the appearing screen first, Import Workflow for Tally Asset Manager from Atlassian Marketplace by clicking on the Import option.
Step 4: After importing the workflow, if you are using Jira Core Free Plan, change it to Standard plan, by clicking on Manage Subscriptions.
On the appearing Manage Subscriptions screen, select Change.
Now select the Standard plan.
Step 5: Now in the Project Configuration screen, fill in the details to create a project. Add Project lead, Asset Administrators as those fields will be left empty for you.
Step 6: Click on the Create button. The project will be created.
Configuration
Configure your organization's assets by adding Asset Administrators to customize and manage the assets, and Create Asset Category, Asset Fields, and Asset Types.
Asset Admin.
Asset Admin is the one, who creates and edits assets and also has all the controls in the Tally Asset Manager, except creating the project in the Tally Asset Manager, which is done only by the JIRA Admin.
To Add Asset Admin
Step 1: Select the Configuration menu from the setup section.
Step 2: Click on the Administrators option
Step 3: On the appearing screen, go to the Search User box, search for the user.
Step 4: Click on the Add button.
The users selected will be added as the asset administrators.
Asset Category
Asset Category is a particular class name given to a group of asset types with similar characteristics. For example, software is an asset category. Software is the name given for the category which can contain different asset types like Application software, Operating systems, etc.
Creating Asset Category
Step 1: Select the Configuration menu from the setup section.
Step 2: Select the Asset Category option.
Step 3: Click on the Create button.
Step 4: Give the Asset Category name and give a description in the description box and click on Save.
Asset Fields
All assets have several fields for identifying and classifying each asset. You can add different fields you need and modify them or delete them as required. Asset Fields are used for storing the data which is related to the asset and these fields can be used in dashboards and reports to display it graphically.
Creating Asset Fields
Step 1: Click the Configuration menu from the setup section.
Step 2: Select Asset Fields Option.
Step 3: Click on the Create button.
Step 4: On the appearing screen, add the name and description, then select the required Asset Field type and Click on the Save button.
The Asset Field will be created.
Asset Type
The Asset Type is the name given to the particular type of asset, which has its own characteristic feature. For example, if Hardware is an asset category, then the Laptop is an asset type coming under the category hardware and it has its own characteristic feature.
Creating Asset Type
Step 1: Click on the Configuration menu from the setup section.
Step 2: Select the Asset Types option.
Step 3: Click on the Create button.
Step 4: On the appearing screen, give the asset type name in the name box and add a description in the description box. Then select the asset category intended for the asset type. Then select an avatar (image or icon for the asset type). And click on the Add button near the asset field to add the required asset field. You can reorder these asset fields.
Step 5: Click on the Save button.
