Template Fields

Template Fields are headers to identify the information that will be populated in the Template. You can relate this to column headers in an excel template.

Template Fields are used for adding and displaying information associated with the Template. You can add different fields you need and modify them or delete them as required.

Different types of Template Fields supported are as follows:

Text Field - The text field allows users to enter text into a UI. We can add only single-line text in the text field.

Text Area -  It is used to add multi-line text in the Text Area.

User Picker - To pick a single user use this field.

Multiple User Picker - Used to pick multiple users.

Number FieldThis field is used to add numeric values.

Single Select - Single Select is used for selecting any one option from a list of values.

Multiple Select - Multiple Select is used for selecting multiple options from the list of values

Date - Used to add and display the date.

Date - time - Used to add and display Date and Time.

URL Field - Used to add the web address of a particular file or page.

Calculated Field - The calculated field is used for performing several arithmetic operations. The Calculated fields are created with formulas that will include another Template Fields and various arithmetic operators.

  • The operators supported in calculated fields are +,-, /, *, ().
  • The Template Fields used for creating Calculated fields should always be a Number Field. For example, if you are creating a Calculated Field named Actual Cost, the formula for the Actual cost will be Actual Cost = (Asset Cost + GST Tax) + Delivery Charges; where the Asset Cost, GST Tax, and Delivery Charges are Template Fields which are of the field type Number fields.

You can Create, Edit, and Delete the Template Fields.

Create

Step 1: In the Manage Template section, select the Template Fields menu.

Step 2: Click on the Add New Field button.


Step 3: In the Add Field screen, fill in all the details and select the required Field Type. (The field types supported are Text Field, Text Area, Number Field, Single Select, Multiple Select  User Picker, User Picker Multiple, Date, Date-Time, Calculated Field.)


Step 4: Now add the options for the field Type selected in the Add Options. ( Only Single Select and Multiple Select field types will have the Add Options )

Step 5: Click on the Save button.


The Template Field will be created.

Create Calculated Field

Step 1: In the Manage Template section, select the Template Fields menu.

Step 2: Click on the Add New Field button.

Step 3: In the Add Field screen, fill in all the details and select the Field Type Calculated Field.

Step 4: In the Formula section, add the formula with other Template fields, which are of the field type " Number Field".

For example, Actual Cost = (Asset Cost + GST Tax) + Delivery Charges is a formula; where the Asset Cost, GST Tax, and Delivery Charges are Template Fields which are of the field type Number Fields and the Actual Cost is the Calculated Field.

Step 5: Click on the Save button.


The Calculated field will be created.

Add Bulk Options

Note: Only for Single Select and Multiple Select fields the option "Add Bulk Options" will be available.

Step 1:Go to Template Fields section

Step 2: Click on the Actions icon corresponding to the Template Field in which you need to add bulk options.


Step 3: Select the Add Bulk Options option. 


Step 4: On the appearing Add Bulk Options screen, enter the options in the text box line by line. After entering the options, click on the Done button. 


Each line will be imported as a new field option.

Edit

Step 1: In the Manage Template section, select the Template Fields menu.

Step 2: Click on the Actions icon corresponding to the Template Field needed to edit.

Step 3:Select the Edit option.


Step 4: On the appearing screen, make the required changes and click on the Save button.


The Template Field will be modified.

Edit Options

Note: Only for Single Select and Multiple Select fields the option "Edit Options" will be available.

Step 1: In the Manage Template section, select the Template Fields menu.

Step 2: Click on the Actions icon corresponding to the Template Field needed to edit.

Step 3: Select the Edit Options option. 


Step 4: On the appearing screen, make the required changes and click on the Done button.


The Template Field will be modified.

Delete

Note: Template Fields associated with any Template cannot be deleted.

Step 1: In the Manage Template section, select the Template Fields menu.

Step 2: Click on the Actions icon corresponding to the Template Field needed to delete.

Step 3:Select the Delete option.



Step 4: On the appearing screen, click on the Delete button.


The Template Field will be removed.
